Saab Wales Open – Saltman lands two holes in one

Car manufacturer Saab, sponsors of the Saab Wales Open put a tantalising prize up for grabs during the PGA Tour event at the Celtic Manor resort last week.  The £35,000 Saab 9-5 model, which was seen floating on a lake near the hole during the event was available to the first Tour Professional who achieved a hole in one on the 160-yard 13th.

It turned out to be an unbelievable tournament for 29-year Scottish Professional Elliot Saltman. Having shot a hole-in-one during the first round on Thursday, he unbelievably went on to achieve the same feat again during the final round.  Unfortunately for Elliot both holes-in-one were on the 211-yard 17th hole, four holes too late to win the new car.

Talking to the BBC Saltman confessed not to be too disappointed at missing out on the new Saab. He picked up £29,000 in prize money for his achievement at the event along with two magnums of Champagne and a complimentary night in the presidential suite at the Celtic Manor resort.
