Garden of England provides perfect backdrop for Jo Beslee to WIN a Vauxhall Corsa!

Date: 25th July 2013

Rochester and Cobham Park Golf Club Captain’s Charity Day’s HOLE IN ONE prize of a car is won against all odds!

For his Charity Golf Day, Captain Keith Hills had an idea and contacted Worldwide Hole ‘N One and insured against the unbelievable happening. And the unbelievable happened.

Mrs Jo Beslee, a former captain of Kent County Ladies Golf Association and  Rochester and Cobham Park Golf Club struck her tee shot from 171 yards at the 8th hole to win a £10,000 Vauxhall Corsa supplied by W J King Group.

Four ladies playing in the penultimate group of the day reached the eighth hole to find that their red block had been moved back from the normal 144 yards to 171 yards. After a jovial moan at the Club Secretary, who happened to be in the fourball behind, they took their shots.  As they arrived at the elevated green, Jo asked one of the adjudicators, Marjorie Jones, if her ball had managed to reach the green “Well,” said Marjorie “better than that, it’s in the HOLE!”

Captain Keith had organised the Charity Day supported by the Lady Captain, Mary James, to raise funds for the Stroke Association and on the day they raised just over £4,500 with 144 members enjoying the golf and hospitality. As it was the first time the club have offered a hole in one prize, he was absolutely thrilled with the unbridled success and excitement that has been generated as a result of Jo’s fabulous win on his Captain’s day.

Katherine Mobey from the Stroke Association comments “I can’t believe someone managed the Hole in One!  I am so glad the day was a success in so many ways and it was lovely to come and meet so many players and have a tour of the beautiful course.”

Keith Hills commented “My day had a fantastic finale when Jo Beslee got a Hole in One to win the car.  Unbelievable, a day I will never forget!”

The presentation of the car, to a very happy Jo Beslee, was made on Thursday 25th July.
